There was a 1% increase in the number of small businesses in South Australia in the year to 30 June 2023. They increased by 1,103 (1%) in Greater Adelaide. The areas with the largest increase in the number of small businesses were:
- Salisbury (increased by 509 small businesses)
- Port Adelaide β East (increased by 423 small businesses)
- Adelaide City (increased by 250 small businesses).
The areas with the largest increase by percent from the year prior were:
- Port Adelaide β East (increased by 7%)
- Salisbury (increased by 6%)
- Playford (increased by 5%).
The number of small businesses in the rest of South Australia increased by 285 (1%) over the year to 30 June 2023. The areas with the largest increase in the number of small businesses were:
- Fleurieu β Kangaroo Island (increased by 150 small businesses)
- Outback β North and East, including Port Augusta (increased by 85 small businesses)
- Limestone Coast (increased by 75 small businesses)
- Barossa (increased by 75 small businesses).
The areas with the largest percentage increase from the previous year were:
- Outback β North and East, including Port Augusta (increased by 7%)
- Fleurieu β Kangaroo Island (increased by 3%)
- Barossa (increased by 2%)
- Yorke Peninsula (increased by 2%).
